China Glaze Evening Seduction

I actually can't remember the last time that I showed a proper vampy color around here, so for today, I have Evening Seduction, from China Glaze's Visions of Grandeur Collection.

Evening Seduction is a blackened plum creme, although it looked very...brown on me. o_O

Evening Seduction is beautiful, and I can definitely see it becoming one of the staple colors in my collection, especially come fall and winter. It features a very sexy and sophisticated shade of plum, and is one of those polishes that would flatter pretty much any skin tone. I also liked that although it looked black every now and then, I was able to tell its true color most of the time. My only hangup with Evening Seduction is that it's not a particularly unique shade. It's quite lovely, but it's also something that I feel like I've seen lots of times already.
I was also very impressed with the quality of Evening Seduction's formula.  It was perfectly opaque and smooth in two easy coats (which is what is in the pictures) and the dry time was good. Cleanup was hell because of the pigmentation though, so oiling your cuticles before polishing is advised.

And that's all from me today! Have a great day, folks! n_n

Whew, I can tell just at a glance that cleanup would be a bear on that! Very nicely done!

Aw, thank you!
Although I still feel like my cuticles look...purple. :(
Ooooh, vampy! I wish Zoya Casey was this opaque and easy to work with! I love the color of this, though...but you know, I've never tried China Glaze. I don't even know where to pick one up.

I've never tried Casey...that's sad that it's difficult to apply.
But that's one really nice thing about the China Glaze...the formula is actually flawless.

Really, never?! Girl, you've been missing out on some good stuff. But since you live in the U.S. China Glaze shouldn't be too hard to get. I know Sally's Beauty and Ulta carry the brand. You can also get it through etailer websites (victoria's nail supply, transdesign, 8ty8beauty, etc.), or on ebay. And you can look in nail supply shops, beauty supply stores...places like that. China Glaze is everywhere!
I haven't bought this. I've thought about it several times, but the fact that it looks like a million other vampys has made me say no.

That's the same reason I avoided it and others like it...I tend to try to fill my collection with more unique colors because funds are limited and you gotta make every dollar count LMAO.
But if you do ever decide to break down and grab a shade like this, I would definitely recommend Evening Seduction. The color, formula, and price are all perfect, and that's a rare combination. ;)
There is something so damn sexy about shiny vampy creams. ZOMG, the third and fourth picture!!
*i died* ... *but then came back, no worries.*

These colors have no business being unique (it's like rice and sugar), like you say more of a staple in your collection. They are just classic and by default necessary for any polish wearer.

I would actually love to see this on you....I know it would look incredible with your nails and your skin tone.
And I agree that this sort of shade is classic and a staple, but for me, that doesn't necessarily negate the fact that it's not the most unique color out there.
It's the same way that almost every brand puts out a cherry red creme, and it's a staple and classic, but if I wear it, I will still mention that it's not a unique color. Because that's the troof, at least to me. :D
Ohh I like. I don't own many 'vampy colors' myself as I always find that I'm drawn to bright colors but this one looks exceptional. I applaud your taste!

I also really like this Deborah Lippmann polish, which has a blackish jelly base with red glitter. I forget the name of it though... =/ Do you own it or have you seen it?? It's lovely as well, but being the cheap skate that I am I'm having a hard time bringing myself to buy it.

lmbo, my sister is the exact same way! And I'm glad that you like this one...'tis good to frolic on the dark side every now and again, no? B)

And I think I know which one you're talking about...is it Deborah Lippmann Ruby Red Slippers?
If so, I have it and am actually deeply in love with it. I also did a post on it, which now that you've reminded me, I have to re-do because the pictures are not good. Here's the post anyway: http://thephalangesfiles.blogspot.com/2010/12/deb...

If you don't want to pay the crazy price for it (I can't even blame you either) I would suggest checking out NYX Dorothy. It's actually the most perfect dupe I've ever seen, and it's super cheap on Cherry Culture.
I think you can also contact NYX, and they can tell you where NYX stuff is sold around where you live, so you may not even have to order online to get it.

Sorry for the novel LOL, but I hope something in there was helpful!! If anything else, just ask. :D
This is an old favourite of mine but now I tend to pick Zoya Casey instead. Still, I wouldn't give this one away since it is a great polish.

Yes, it is great!
And I'm glad that you found something that you like...it's a nice feeling when you find staples. :D
