Studio M Slammin' Red

For today, I have Studio M Slammin' Red.

Studio M is a very dark pink (it's not reallyyy red) base, densely packed with multi-sized silver and holographic glitter.

Sunlight, no flash.

Natural light, no flash.

Sunlight, no flash.

And slight blurring for the sake of sparkliness.

Sunlight, no flash.

I was kind of disappointed with Slammin' Red because I really wanted it to be legit red. But once I got past that, I really enjoyed it. The base color is pretty and feminine and the glitter sparkled so beautifully in the sun. The sparkle and holo effect were not as pronounced on the nail as they were in the bottle though...I think the base ate them up a bit. But that's okay. I still like it and will be keeping it.
My only real issue with Slammin' Red is the formula. It was so terrible...gloopy, thick, and hard to work with. It also dried uber gritty and needed like three layers of Poshe to finally become smooth. On the upside though, it was perfectly opaque in just two coats, dried quickly, and was totally worth all the trouble.

And that's all for today! Thanks for reading and enjoy your Friday!

YES! The formula is THE SUCK, but once you get past that (and the fact that it's not *quite* red), it's so pretty. I've nicknamed it the Red Monster because it was so difficult to work with. However, the end result is worth it.

LMAO @ The Red Monster!!
A much better name than Slammin' Red, to be sure. ;)
You are so right about the formula. It's so thick but you do only need one coat. I had to pour on the Seche too. In fact, I'm wearing mine now - but I love it.

Yep...the things we go through for love.
So pretty and it looks great on you. It reminds me a little bit of OPI DS Extravagance, a super huge lemming. :)

Thanks!
And good call, I can totally see the resemblance between the two.
Well that sucks about the formula, because it's so very pretty. I guess the end results is worth the hassle huh? :)

I would buy this colour if they sold it here. A shame about the formula. I just love glitters

Yes, it is rather tough to get hold of...I had to purchase mine from Mary over at Body and Soul.
I believe she's still selling some, so maybe you can purchase one from her?
i've wanted this one for a long time, but i know once i get it i'll hate it for the crap-tastic formula :) oh well i still want it ;)

lol, I found that it was pretty easy to forgive the formula...with all the sparkles, it's hard to stay mad. ;)
