Revlon Mistletoe

Hi guys! Today, I have the nail blues. Not only did I break a nail and have to nubbinate them all, but I am also wearing a polish color that is displeasing and highly disappointing to me. Here's Mistletoe from Revlon's new Spice it Up Collection.

Mistletoe is a blackened green creme base packed with green and gold microshimmer, as well as larger silver and gold flecks.

I fell crazy in love with Mistletoe in the store, and while I was applying it, I was still excited. But when it dried on the nail?

It just looked like a sludgy mess to me, and lost quite a bit of the sparkle from the green and gold shimmer. To be fair, it does have its flashes of prettiness, but most of the time, it just looks uninteresting and flat. And to make matters worse, it has this gross visual texture. I can't really feel it when I touch it with my fingers, but it looks...bumpy and ripply, even with multiple layers of topcoat. Honestly, it reminds me of diseased toad skin, and I think I want to take it back to the store and get my $6.29 back. I already have Edyta, which is similar but prettier, and at least it actually reads green.
Mistletoe was okay to apply though. The formula is thick and well-pigmented, so I only needed two coats for full opacity. It also did the Top Speed name justice and dried quickly. I don't know what to do about the texture though...two layers of topcoat didn't make it smooth enough, and I don't believe in using more than that on something that won't pay off.

If you have Mistletoe, what do you think of it? I don't see too many reviews of it up, so I'm not sure if I'm crazy or if this is really as terrible as I think it is.
But anyway, that's all from me today. Thanks for reading, and have a great Monday!

I cannot stop laughing right now. A nasty avocado though?!?!
But you're right, it does look like a bad avocado. Didn't even cross my mind, but it totally does LMAO!!
Aww I'm sorry it let you down. I have it, but like it.

Yeah me too...I really wanted to like it.
And that's great that yours works for you!
Am i the only person to quite like it, the colour is nice but it looks quite gritty? maybe as a topcoat I wonder then with a clear topcoat. WOn't be available in the UK, or I'd test it for my blog! I normally love Revlon.

Apparently, you are not the only person lmao.
Maybe you can do a swap for it? Normally, I like Revlon too, but this and Carbonite is making me mad at them.
Ew. Why is it so bumpy? I have this polish and it went on nice and smooth and shiny. Maybe you got a bad bottle. :(

Girl that is the question of the damn hour. Whyy is it so bumpy? I think I would be able to like it if not for the texture.
And maybe I did. I'm glad that you like yours!
Maybe instead of returning it, I will drop some thinner in mine and see if that improves matters. Thanks for the input!

Ok. I just snorted in the waiting room of my doctors office. Love the meme and tags! I am not a fan of Revlon. For every decent polish I find there are twice as many wtf moments.

Girl, I know. They're so inconsistent. :(
Ok, I LOVED "In Living Color"!!!!

LOL!!

I think the color would be ok, but the texture! Wow!!! Incredibly horrible!

LOL me too!! Men on Film were one of my favorite sketches, so hated it appears quite frequently in my everyday language.
And yeah, that's my thing too...the texture. -___-
NOOOO I totally bought this and was really excited... way to kill my buzz. LOL!!! Maybe your bottle was just bad. That that I'd wish that on you. It's just that I really want this color to be a good one... I am yet to try it so we shall see!

Sorryyyy!!
And I think it may have been my bottle, because others in the comments say that they are happy with theirs.
Hopefully, you will be happy with yours too!
I'm going to try mine again with thinner added to see if I can be happy as well. Yayyy everyone will be happy. :D

Sorry about your broken nail :-( That totally sucks!

Yuck, the first thing I thought when I looked at your pics is that lumpy polish looks like it went bad or something. It sounds like you agree! Ick, I can't stand too much bumpiness especially if there is no "pretty payoff" to balance it!
