Rescue Beauty Lounge Under the Stars (Take Two)

Okay, so today, I'm reposting Rescue Beauty Lounge Under the Stars. I've written something on this color before, but I kind of hate the pictures on that one, so I decided to take another crack at it. These ones are not the best either, but they look better, I think. Oh yeah, and there will probably be more of these types of posts coming...I noticed that lots of my older pictures suck more than what is normal for me. So sorry if that displeases you. I'll space them out with newer stuff.

Under the Stars is a deep and slightly dusty navy blue creme base with blue shimmer and small teal glitter scattered throughout.

Natural light, no flash.

Sunlight, no flash.

Under the Stars looks much better in the bottle than on the nail. In the bottle, the shimmer and glitter are so intense that it's like holding the Milky Way in the palm of your hand. You can still see a bit of that on the nail, particularly if you wear this polish in bright sunlight, but it isn't nearly as prominent, which is a bummer. That aside, Under the Stars is a good color. The base is not the usual type of navy that you see in most night sky interpretations...it's a bit smoky and leans a smidge teal, which makes it look (in my opinion) more realistic and sets it apart from other shimmery dark blues. I think these pictures make it look a bit more typical, but if you look at the third picture, that one shows the base color best. It's really pretty, and bonus: it doesn't look black in lower light.
I also enjoyed Under the Stars' formula. It was excellently pigmented, and looked perfect in two thin coats. You would be able to get away with one thick one, if you were careful. Also, Under the Stars applied beautifully, with no streaking or dragging.
Although Under the Stars is definitely a high quality polish, I probably would not pay $18 for it. I got it at half price, which was quite fair. I'd probably even pay up to $12 for it, just because it is unusual, and the formula is so wonderful. But for me, $18 is a bit too much for this polish.

And with that, I am all done for today. Thanks for reading, and have a great day! ^_^

I'm sort of afraid to go back and look at my early pics; I bet I'd see a lot I'd want to re-do. :)

I got this one in one of the sales but haven't worn it yet; I should change that.

I'm crazy nosy, soo I just looked and you definitely should not be worried. You had great pictures from day 1. So congratulations!!

Also, yeahh you should change that. If for no other reason than to get one more untried out the way. :D
I would snatch this polish up if it looked at good at the bottle pics. It looks really good on your nails...and your pics almost make me want to buy it...but I must be strong because it is $18...grrrrr.

If it looked as good on the nail as in the bottle, I would strongly urge you to go pick it up.
Heck, I'd go back and buy another one, it would look just that amazing. It's so sad that it doesn't transfer over.

And umm, I knoww...RBL polish is definitely an exercise in willpower. I really wish they were priced more reasonably, so people wouldn't have to be strong.
This is the first time I've been intrigued by this shade! I had no idea it had shimmer in it too; I thought it was just the sparse glitter. Still, $18 is too steep :)

Yep, the shimmer is pretty subtle...it's kind of hard to capture in photographs, so I think most people wouldn't know that this has shimmer until they had it in their hands.

And you're right about the price too...too too much.
your nails look dreamy :) love shades of navy... I don't own any RBLs the price tag and shipping charges keep me away... for now

Thanks!!
Navy polish is awesome. ^_^
And I can't afford RBL either...all the ones I have, I bought them during the 50% off sale, which is when I would urge you to try some out. You still have to pay shipping, but the prices are way more reasonable, and I really think all nail fanatics should experience RBL at least once.
I'm not sure if she's gonna be having it again this year...she said that last year was the last one, but I know she made bank off that sale, so hopefully she won't be able to resist doing it for another year. ;)
I really like this one, but maybe it should be called "under the stars ... in the city" (where we see like 5 stars) :p

LOL good one!! :p
Funnily enough though, you're like dead on. UtS was inspired by the night sky in Marrakech, which I imagine would not have so many stars.
I just wish she would have gone out into the countryside for the inspiration.
Gah, this is a major lemming for me! It looks gorgeous on you.

I totally feel you on wanting to repost pics. I've only been at this for a month and I already want to reshoot some of my old posts. I don't mind seeing older stuff because your nails are great!

Thanks! I hope you can get a bottle of your own soon!

Noo, I don't believe you! You also had really nice pictures from day 1...you don't need to retake any of them.
